Christopher Hagenah attended University of California Santa Barbara, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in English.

He also holds a Master of Arts in English from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern California. He has taught literature, film, and composition courses at the college level. He teaches American Literature, Chicago Literature and Analysis & Composition.
